 The Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management (VAMNICOM ) is conceived as an intellectual nerve centre for the Co-operative Movement and it is financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. This institute is an organization working under National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), New Delhi. VAMNICOM associates with various international agencies /organizations like International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), International Labour Organisation (ILO), Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO), Asian & Pacific Agricultural Credit Association (APARCA), etc. The institute conducts exchange programmes in collaboration with the department of International, Technical & Economic Co-operation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs and offers training programmes for senior executives from co-operatives in developing countries. Also, it conducts collaborative programmes with National Institute for Co-operative Development (NICD), Sri Lanka. Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU), Bangkok, Thailand, The Co-operative College of Malaysia, Malaysia. The institute has also been an active promoter in the establishment of the Centre for International Co-operation and Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB) which is engaged in organizing training programmes in the field of agricultural / rural banking to professionals from SAARC countries. VAMNICOM has launched a Global HRD Network Portal www.hrd.coop in February, 2007 with the assistance of National Co-operative Union of India and International Co-operative Alliance, Geneva with the objective of networking worldwide Co-operative Institutions imparting Education and Training. .
